Traction Control System
My Supercab 2021 F-150 Lariat tells me the Traction Control System is always on by default. It also tells me the icon will blink or stay on solid, depending upon if it is functioning properly or not. What I don’t see is the lit icon. The video tells me the icon should be flashing when it’s working and solid on when it needs to be checked. It’s confusing because as most “idiot” lights come on solid when it needs to see the dealer for repair, as this one is supposed to do, it’s also supposed to flash when operating correctly. But I don’t see any flashing icons. This icon should be flashing, an indication the system is on and performing correctly but it’s never lit up, never mind flash! So, how do I know if the system is on? Just take Ford’s word for it being the default setting? And since a flashing icon is by nature a function designed as an attention grabber, shouldn’t that be the sign to bring it into a dealer for repair, and not a solid icon? Seems a bit backward to me.
Ok. Thanks. My understanding now is that although TCS is on, it doesn’t show any indication until it is actually needed to engage. And since I haven’t gotten into any situation where it was needed (yet), I see nothing at all.
