Default Traction control

I was wondering why would my traction control shut off and on while I was driving in a rain storm ??
I just got this 2024 F150 and trying to figure out if this is normal or not.
I was thinking it has something to do with hydroplaning ???

What exactly do you mean by shuts off? Do you get a warning light like the abs, skid...? If that's the case maybe you have water getting into a connection somewhere causing an open, short or invalid data received code and it's shutting the system down. If it's a bad wheel speed sensor and it dries out and you start driving it'll usually reset the code itself.

What I'd do is when the failure is happening don't turn the truck off and scan the abs system or full system for any codes and go from there. If you have forscan you can do it yourself. Otherwise if your still under warranty contact the dealer and see what they can do. Just make sure if it only happens when raining book it in on a rainy few days so they can duplicate the issue.

If your applying a lot of throttle at that moment, its wheel spin being detected.
Switch lights up or a notification appears momentarily, then shuts off as traction is regained.
Its what traction Control does.
Normal.
Good luck.

I think @Bluegrass has it right. It is not that your traction control "shut off and on while I was driving in a rain storm". It is actually turning on momentarily as it senses a loss of traction due to the rain, and then cycling right back off as traction is regained.

So, yes, it could be in response to the onset of hydroplaning (loss of traction), but it does its job, lights up the dash, and then goes back off.
