Default towing brake

hello new to the 2023 f150 power boost xlt. i have a 19ft bass boat with trailer it runs at about 21 1/2 feet long the boat trailer doesn't have brakes just the brakes on the truck. when i connected the boat to the truck i set up the trailer and added on the screen but when i did a turn or back up it started to lock up the back tires. i did some digging for info and went on the screen and turned off the side impact i think its called but still did it when i turn.

And it locks up the tires when I'm backing up doing a sharp turn to get lined up or coming of a sharp turn, I'm not going fast at all I'm actually driving really slow just that the truck and boat are at maybe a 45 degree angle or more is when it applies brakes

Are you using pro trailer backup assist by any chance? That feature is pretty lame IMO, it doesn’t allow too sharp of an angle. For coming off, I’m guessing that could be autohold?

Re visit the Owner Manual page 439 and be sure the set up is for Conventional Trailer without Brakes as shown on Page 440 left side of a Trailer picture and follow that text..
Good luck.

For a 19’ bass boat you likely have surge brakes. Does your trailer have 4 or 5 pins?
