towing ?
hello, my 2025 xlt with max tow package tows 13200 lbs according to specs. I read about towing with a weight distribution hitch for large camper trailer, but what do I do when towing a 6-ton trailer with a pindle hitch trailer and towing a farm tractor with combined weight of 11,000 lbs? thanks
What’s your truck payload? If you’re not using a WDH, It needs to be under 500 lbs, which is going to be impossible with that kind of weight and
no WDH.
That sounds like a load for a super duty and not a half ton.

yes, I do agree but I never saw a wdh on a pindle hitch. this is not an everyday tow maybe be just for a tractor repair. just a thought that if I was able to get a whd would that increase the tongue load?

My thoughts on F150 towing is that the max sensible trailer weight is about 8,000lbs. That's because typically we're never alone when we tow. Wife, kids dogs and "just throw it in the bed" weight all consumes payload. An industry standard is ten percent of a trailer's weight gets transferred to the truck.
A WDH doesn't increase payload, it moves the weight from the truck's rear axle to the front. Those bars you see on a WDH act as levers to do that. $1k for a good WDH.
To tow that load, you need binders and chains to secure it. Plus straps for any bucket or implement. What is dealer charging to pick it up and return it?
