Default Thunderstorm in my cab!?!

So yesterday as I was getting ready to head to the rink, I started my truck via my fob, grabbed my skates and out the door I went. I got in the truck and pressed the start button and all of a sudden it sounded like the beginning of a thunderstorm in my truck. The radio was on, but you could hardly hear it over the wooshing wind sound coming from the rear! I wish I would have recorded it with my phone! I turned the truck off and opened the door so things would shut off. Started the truck again and it still continued to make the sound. I then drove to the dealership as they are right across the street from the arena and had the service guy come out and listen. He had never heard anything like that before. He said to drop it off in the morning for them to look at it. I headed to the rink and after practice when I started again with fob and got out to truck and pressed the button, everything was fine. This morning everything was fine as well.

Anyone have this type of issue before? It's the B&O upgrade on the XLT.

Hi there! This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with these concerns on my end.

Are you trying to say "my subwoofer made loud noises when I got in".

I opened up the rear door and stuck my head in the back seat area. It did not sound like it was coming from the subwoofer. More from the rear door speakers.

it's on the middle behind the seat. Flip down the small back seat side and you can see a bit of it.

Just speculation, but I think the latest Ford Power Up OTA had a firmware update for the ACM (audio control module) and/or DSP (audio digital signal processor module). I did not experience what you did, but since the last update, for the very first time, my head rest speakers work significantly better than they ever did. Before I had to press my ear against the headrest to hear a muffled audio barely come through when surround sound was enabled, I know I'm not the only one who experienced that disappointment. But since the massive OTA 2.3.0 got pushed down, the headrest speakers are actually noticeable to the extent that it freaked me out the first time I listened to one of my common playlists.

I suspect all you need to do is disconnect the battery to reset the ACM and DSP. Maybe you got an update and it didn't install right.
