Default Text notifications are LOUD

2021 F-150 Platinum, using AA.

No matter what volume I have the stereo at, when I get a text, it is ear shatteringly loud. I'm using AA, I haven't really tried Sync4 cause I'm not going to pay for navigation services. Doesn't matter if I have notifications off or on vibrate. I've gone through the AA menu on the truck menu and turned off notifications and I still get them. I don't mind getting them, but I need to control the volume somehow. What am I missing?

I try to catch them coming in and adjust the volume. There is a window where you can adjust the notification volume without affecting the music volume.

Do you happen to know where that is? Is it in the F150 menus, or the AA menus?

I think he means is that if you turn the volume **** down while the notification tone is playing, it will reduce the volume of the tone from then on but not affect your radio volume. I know it works that way for navigation prompts.

I had a lot of trouble getting my text messages set up through Sync 4 (? I think) when I got my 2023. I never really did get them to work right and I finally gave up. I just check them through Android Auto now. Didn't have this problem in my 2019 Sync 3.

Try and use your preferred nav in AA, are the prompts also loud? I know on CarPlay adjusting one adjusts the other iirc (voice nav and notifications)

I have tried that yes. Regardless of volume settings, text messages come in with a top volume. I even tried turning off notifications in the AA app and it still does this.

Well, the tone is a single ding, so there's really no time to do that. I've also tried muting messages once one has come in and it still happens.

I believe you can also adjust the volume while a text message is being read and thatll work for all notifications

I've never actually tried reading messages on the screen, but I'll do that and see if it presents more options.

Oh, and go Dawgs!

I've been trying to turn the text messaging notifications completely OFF but have yet to figure that out. I hate when the wife adds me to a group text and I get to hear 27 beeps and bonks through the speakers (AA) even though I'm not participating. Grrr.
