When I asked my dealership about the recall, the response I get is "well have you had any issues?". No, but this is something that I worry about, especially when I have a trailer connected. I wish they had a lockout for the tailgate release for the dash button and the keyfob to help prevent an accidental opening. I was getting ready to leave a couple of weeks ago and I didn't think I hit the button, but suddenly I heard the thump of the tailgate opening.
Knowing that the fix requires a double press of the key is ammunition to get this done the next time I go for service.

I was right. Warmer weather arrived and it drops down on its own.
