Just a friendly tip: If/when you see the "No Data Available" in the side screen for carplay audio you can "refresh" the display by pressing the "phone list" button, selecting your phone, disabling carplay, then immediately choosing "connect to carplay".

Only takes a few seconds, and has worked 100% of the time for me.

Disabling the side screen menus keeps the outline in place. Ford really wants us to have two clocks

The best hope seems to be enabling the Sync 4A theme which is significantly more pleasant to look at and use. Unfortunately the top status bar is not made for this resolution and the theme crashes almost instantly. I’m praying that in a future update we can make this Sync 4A theme permanent.

I went on this link AppLink Catalog | My Ford Vehicle | www.ford.com I went to chat and talked to an agent. she said they log feedback about software. My complaints to her where as follows

1: removing waze from the applink
2: requiring a subscription to use navigation or its pretty much useless
3: give us a black theme like older versions of sync 3 had
4: let us hide the IODs on the side
5: allow car play to utilize the whole screen

Maybe if more people lodge complaints they will make some changes. I seen a video of an F150 lightning testing with carplay, it was using the full screen so maybe we are on the verge of an update that will allow this.

does that include Nav with Waze , or just the Ford truck Nav.

Default Sync4 Sidebar/Sidescreen

(2023; F150; 5L V8; 4 X 4; Towing Pkg; 360 Cameras)
I like the sidebar, I just want more choices of what can be displayed there. Thanks to another post I found the 13-pin connector under the bumper so I could add my own camera. It now shows up in the "Aux Input" screen. It would be really helpful if you could have this view show up on the side bar in place of the "Bed View" when towing a traler. Anybody found a way to add the views to the sidebar?

Default I solved it.

I also wish CarPlay would take over the whole screen,
Go to CarPlay or whichever screen you want to be full screen. Go into settings tab at bottom, scroll over to Display, click display, select “calm screen”, click screen again and go back to original screen tab you wanted to be full. Enjoy.
