Has anyone come up with a way yet to remove the demand screen from the right side of the display??? We paid so much for these displays and then Ford takes up 1/3 of the real estate with meaningless garbage (My opinion). Heck even if I pick a card that is even slightly useful it changes the next time I start the vehicle. In fact the main display changes also. I was soooo excited to get the larger display but in all reality we only have the same size as the old 8". I guess I should be thankful that at least the navigation display can be expanded (even though you have to keep pressing the expand button).

No, it won't be possible until Ford adds the capability. Some of the items on the left screen are probably not yet configured to expand to the larger size without stretching textures. I imagine if it becomes possible it will be a future update, I wouldn't hold my breath for someone to "figure out" a way.

I was just hoping some setting in Forscan was an option.

There is no option and no available jailbreak yet which drives me nuts. Ford sold us gorgeous infotainment hardware installed with horrendous Sync 4 software.

It is bothers me that multiple menus have a different shape, font, impossibly-small touch target. It’s a bad GUI for driving. It seems to me like it was never once tested on the road.

We all want full screen CarPlay / Android Auto, but Ford’s priority is to push their infotainment platform to draw in revenue from third party vendors. Ford App Link and Factory Nav will never compete with Google Maps / Apple Maps / Waze but they are a key part of Ford’s share price which is why CarPlay and Android Auto are intentionally suppressed.

I’d rather downgrade Sync 4 to Sync 3 if at all possible.

I also wish CarPlay would take over the whole screen,
I was behind a Hyundai at a light a few days ago, looking at its carplay content filling up the entirety of what appeared to be a 9+" display. Not gonna lie - I was a little jealous!

I guess I'm in the minority. I Like having the dual function. Usually have google maps on the big screen and the audio display on the small screen

Yeah I am good with the dual function. The only time I would prefer something more is when using a maps app in CarPlay, but Apple is about to make that less of a concern for me at least since the new iOS will enable turn by turn directions to appear in the instrument cluster like it does now with the truck navigation. That will be plenty good for me as I don't like looking at the large screen while driving anyway.

The side screen is nice when listening to whatever it is you are listening to since you can pause while staying on the navigation in CarPlay. Since Ford still hasn't given me a dedicated pause/play button on the steering wheel, it's nice to have the side screen. I would be more upset if Ford had not done it since I would have to jump between screens like I did in my 2019.

I have no real complaints with Sync 4, it has worked essentially flawlessly for me, aside from the occasional "No Data" message on the side screen. I also wish you had a way to check install status for PowerUps also aside from a website. But those are small things, I am way happier with Sync 4 than I was Sync 3, and I liked Sync 3.

I wish the audio screen on the side would give all the same controls I have on Android Auto audio. Restart track and thumbs up/down would be great to have, and possibly even album art.

Most of the items also only take up like half the side, why can't I display two items at once and have less wasted space?

I went from a 2015 With sync 2 to a 2021
with sync 4. So this is leaps and bounds better than what I had before. Yeah. There are things that could be better, more customization options. Full screen for most, etc. but going from 2. I LOVE Sync 4. Ha ha.

I just wish there was a way to capture and record the camera data to an ssd of some sort. Why should we have to buy more cameras if we want a dash cam? With the 360 camera package built in, they could have done some neat stuff for not a lot of extra money or development. Maybe the last 5 minutes before an accident, triggered by the airbag. Or if the alarm is triggered. The cams are somewhat useful when parking, or backing up to a trailer, but with some software and/or a user provided thumb drive, they should be able to do much more.
