Sync4 Nav and Waze
I've noticed recently the built in Navigation on the F150 no longer gives me the option to use Waze. Also there does not seem to be an option to leverage the native app now, have to use CarPlay. Anyone else notice this changed as an option? Would be nice to use Waze natively instead of the standard navigation for peer to peer reporting of road conditions, unclear why that was removed?

Is it better using Waze through built-in? I didn't even know that was a thing. I've been having a glitch with Waze through Carplay where it lowers my music volume like it's about to make an announcement but it never does.
...and unfortunately, Google broke Waze for CarPlay again with the latest release. Major audio issues that will interfere with other audio sources - choppy or no playback. The Waze team doesn't seem to do a lot of testing on CarPlay it seems.
I ended up just uninstalling Waze. CarPlay works flawlessly for every other app, until the Waze team gets their act together I am fine with Google or even Apple Maps (used to be a joke, but they have improved things significantly).

Yeah it's odd how Waze seems to consistently be the cause of CarPlay trouble. I remember with my 2019 there was an issue where you couldn't adjust audio because any time you turned the volume ****, it said it was adjusting the voice audio, not normal audio (for music/podcasts/etc). That was super frustrating and it ended up being a Waze problem caused by it constantly sending a voice playing signal to the system even though it wasn't playing the voice. It's such simple stuff that should be caught in even the most basic test cases, which they either aren't doing or aren't doing well.

I have had no real issues with Google Maps. They added the functionality Waze has for reporting speed traps/potholes/etc. Not as many people use it since Google kind of hid it away for whatever reason, but I also don't speed recklessly so it doesn't bother me. Apple Maps has also been great and I think it looks/feels better than Google Maps, but I have run into at least one navigation issue recently where it was taking me to the "Lane" version of the road instead of "Street", even though it was represented properly in the address. Doing so took me about 4 miles in the wrong direction. Stuff like that may happen on Google Maps also, but it seems less frequent. Apple Maps has improved significantly, I still prefer it for navigation duties, but now I double check where it is taking me on longer drives against Google Maps just to be sure.
I should have mentioned, I use android auto... I don't have any dealings with apple.
The reason I prefer google maps over waze is I can literally look up where I am going here at my office and e-mail the pin or address to my phone, click it in the e-mail while sitting in my truck and boom it automatically pulls it up on my truck. I get all the traffic notices, speed trap notices and preferred routes. Waze does seem to have more back road options than google, but not enough for me to switch over.
