Sync 4/Android Auto occasional issue
This has happened to me 3-4 times since I've owned the truck (about 8 months). I'll get in and start the truck, it will detect my phone, but Android Auto wont start. When I try to enable it in the Sync 4 settings, I get some kind of message about enabling App Projection, which it tries to do and then eventually times out. The only way to get it to start working right again is to kill the power to the truck and let it sit about 5 minutes. It hasn't happened many times, but it happened to me yesterday, so it's not something they've fixed in software it doesn't look like. I've had it happen on 2 different phones now.
Anyone else had this happen?

Make sure the phone wifi and bluetooth are on.
Delete all phones from your Sync 4 settings menu and start the process again.

I tried all of that plus everything else imaginable the first time it happened with no luck. For me at least, letting the truck sit a few minutes with the ignition completely off is the only way to fix it, but it does seem to fix it. I don't have to mess with any settings or anything, it just starts working again. Fortunately it hasn't happened very often.
Mine connects well most times. I still keep a USB cable plugged in the front console outlet. If I have an issue with connection I just plug it in. That seems to connect fine always. Issue has been hit and miss. I think it has as much to do with the phone as anything with the truck. If you do try to pair again mak sure you delete pairing in your phone, then restart phone. Don't turn Bluetooth and WiFi back on until you have also deleted phone from truck. That way you are assured one half isn't trying to connect to an old pairing on the other.

Anyway, Wireless App Projection is off and greyed out. I am at work, so I'll have to play around with it when I can. I am trying the "let it sit" approach for now.

Weird.
Oh, well. Maybe it will be good for a good while now.

It's pretty infrequent for us. More often though once it connect the music is paused and I have to hit play for streaming from Spotify to resume instead of just starting from where it stopped last time.
