Default STX or XLT

Looking at F150 purchase. I know I want the 5.0 4x4 with 3.73 and tow package. I’m pretty plane Jane and don’t need all the amenities. Is it wise to not take Xlt into account? Don’t want to make wrong choice as I keep vehicles for at least 10 years. Hate to say it but not crazy about front grill on either trim. Can’t afford the lariat though to get the led running lights. What’s everyone’s opinion?

If you don’t care about options, STX all day long. Even better with black appearance package.

Not sure what Ford was thinking with that XLT grill.

I just went from a 19 STX 2wd to a 24 STX 4x4. I’d do it again. 12” screen plus other options.

Sounds like the STX is the choice for you. But what are you driving today?

The STXs Amber turn signals are LED and nice and bright and look great. I'd go for the STX.

I’m the same way, always go for the cheapest trim and don’t care about all the amenities. Only reason I went with an xlt this round is because at the time stock situation wasn’t great so have to pick one from the lot. Find one with good incentives (I.e. if there are more xlt on the lot, you may have better luck finding a good one ) but all of them have 14” instruments cluster and 12” infotainment so it was a huge upgrade for me regardless of what I picked at the time.

I have a 23' SC STX 4x4 5L with e lock axle. The options I wish I had are the 360 camera, it would nice to know where my front bumper is pulling in. Also the dual exhaust tips, skid plates and center shifter. Still the truck is more than capable for my camper towing mission.

I went through this same decision about 4 weeks ago. I ended up with an Avalanche XLT BAP 5.0 3.73. I was looking at the STX too. This truck is going to be a daily driver. With the incentives the local dealers had on the XLTs, the difference was ~$2,100 between the XLT I got and the best I cold find on an STX with nearly all the items I wanted.. Bonus with the XLT, it had the items that made it an easier decision for me. Front parking sensors and front camera. I have two 2-vehicle garages (4 total). In the front one I have about 3 inches to spare when I park the Truck, so the Camera and sensors help a lot.

If you don’t mind me asking, what did you pay OTD for the XLT BAP?
