Anyone able to do this? 1st world problem I know. I realize android auto wireless uses a WI Fi signal. My phone will then say internet unavailable. Can't use the hotspot at the same time though, because those are 2 separate signals. Would love to use Spotify or Amazon music while using this.

 

AA streaming (podcasts) is working for me with mobile data. Mostly I listen to Sirius xm.

I've come to realize the 3 stations I like on XM are no better than terrestrial radio. Same songs over and over

 

Yeah I don’t understand your concern. The phone uses WiFi to display info on the head unit but your phone doesn’t get its data from WiFi, it gets it from your cell provider. So as long as your phone has signal you can stream whatever you want. I have an iPhone, not android, but I have friends with android and wireless AA and the concepts there are no different.

Now if you are saying you can’t tell your phone to connect to the trucks hotspot and also connect to wireless AA, that is accurate. That is a limitation of the phone for the time being. I imagine more phone manufacturers will consider dual WiFi radios on their flagship lines for similar reasons.
