Start/Stop feature
When I ordered my truck I did the "delete start/stop" feature because of the unknown time frame of delivery. I saved $50 ... whoopee! I asked the dealer if and when Ford gets the chips back in stock, can I add it back in for $50. He didn't know and was supposed find out for me, he must have forgot. Anyway, I kinda got used to having it on my 2017 XLT and the wife's Explorer. It's not a must have, but wondering if any fellow members have heard anything.
Since the chip won't be in the vehicle, no.
It's pretty funny though, there's a large number of forum members that go berserk over having this feature because they hate it, and you want it.

I absolutely HATED it in my old 2020 Sierra. It took the fun out of driving that truck. I had to push the botton every single time to disable it. At best...you save 1MPG.....maybe. We still don't know the long term effect of multiple start/stop events. I don't think it's good for the starter. It does this even before the truck is fully warmed up etc.
It is funny how some people despise it and others want it. For a person that gets a new vehicle every three years or so, there's no need to worry about any extra wear and tear. For someone like me that normally holds on to a vehicle long term, I worry more about the loss of oil pressure and added wear from that. I'm not worried about the starters. They are built for it. They aren't the same starters of the past.
To answer the original question, I really doubt the chip can be added after the fact. It's probably possible, but most likely cost prohibitive. You'd probably need to make software changes as well. Not simple plug and play.

Thanks for the responses. I pretty much figured "if or when" the chip becomes available it's not going to be an easy install. I'd like to see Ford put it back in for $50, LOL, yah right. It's not that I love it or hate it, I had just gotten used to it. My wife hates it, so she always hits the off button in both vehicles when she gets in.

I don't know what the auto start/stop on the Gen14 trucks is like, but I had my 2015 F150 in the shop for a couple of days getting an electrical problem diagnosed and repaired and I was given a 2018 2.7L EB F150 to drive as a loaner. It had the auto start/stop and I hated it. I forgot to delete it on my recent order and just emailed my salesman to see about getting my order amended.
