Default Is a Soundscreen windshield an upgrade?

I've got to get a windshield replaced, and I'm going to specify I want an OEM replacement, I just want to make sure there aren't different versions of OEM that i need to make sure of.
My present one says Soundscreen at the bottom, and i want one just like it, rather than a cheap safelite replacement
Previous experience tells me to make the right choice the first time on this.

I don't know for certain, but suspect the lower trim XL trucks don't have Soundscreen glass. You SHOULD get the correct glass if they order it based on your VIN number.

Does your policy specifically call out coverage for OEM replacement parts? If not, you may not get OEM without paying the difference.

If you have OEM parts replacement coverage, you should get the same OEM windshield that came in the truck from the factory.

https://www.tascaparts.com/v-2022-fo...***-windshield

Put in the year of the truck 22 F150 XLT and this came up for windshields at Tasca Parts, my present truck has rain sense no heated steering wheel so correct glass for my present truck would be ml3z1503100h

Being Canadian, I usually go through a windshield a year. Aftermarket and OEM I notice no difference. My shop uses good aftermarket replacements, so they aren't wavy.

I
I commuted to work years back, had to get mine replaced due to chipping, the replacement was chipped as bad in one year as the old one was after 8, and the road noise increase was immediately noticeable as soon as i left the parking lot. I'm at the age where this could be my last truck, so i want it the way i want it. That said, i have had good glass replacements, but my insurance is going to want to route me through safelite, if i don't specify otherwise. I have no issues with their work, but their glass sucks.

Wavy or clarity isn't the issue, it's the Soundscreen sound insulation in the glass.
When I had to replace the windshield on my 2016- twice- I had to pay for the Soundscreen windshield, or it was going to be a generic replacement without the Soundscreen insulation.

Safelite will install OEM glass (if your policy covers it). I've had so many windshields replaced by them over the years, I've lost count.
