I noticed a faint jingling that sounded like it was coming from under the center console since I got my 2023 PowerBoost - almost like loose change. I didn't really think too much of it since it was so quiet and definitely coming from outside the truck.
I crawled under it today just because I was curious what the electric motor and battery pack looked like. I noticed there was no large felt belly pan like my 2020 had, but for some reason Ford put the clips in anyway. A light tap on the small felt pan produced a loud jingle because those clips rattle around.
Here's where the clips were hooked:
...and here's what the clips look like:
I'm on my third F-150 and nothing Ford does really surprises me at this point. If you also have a jingle noise, it's possible that they put them into your truck as well and it's an easy fix!
I had the same issue and the same findings. Jingly is the perfect word for it
This eliminated all noises for me. It is nice to not have exterior rattles. My first F-150 had the drop in liner that made all kinds of noise. My second one had a spray-in, but also had a tailgate step that made a racket. I can actually open the back window in this truck without getting annoyed!
I put the skid plates on mine because the underside is so exposed and expensive(!!). You won't need those clips if you decide to do it too, they provide new ones with the skids.
