Default Small drivers seat?

Does anybody else have an issue with the size of the drivers seat on the 21’s? Ford has reduced the seat size (width) and increased the width of the console. I’m having some comfort issues. Just curious to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same discomfort.

Everything else about the truck is top notch! The ride, the technology and the features are phenomenal. I only have about 1500 miles on mine so far, but the 21’s are a big step up from the 20’s. My one and only complaint is the drivers seat feels too darn small.

I've had plenty of trucks.... Most recently a 2016 F150 King Ranch, then a 2019 Ram Limited and now this 2021 F150 Platinum 4X4. I don't notice much difference in seat comfort/size from any of these. But, I'm not a wide body either (5'11 200).

Big man here. The 40/console/40 in cloth is very comfortable width wise to me.
There have been postings of the wrong style seats put into the F150. Might want to go back to the dealer and sit in some more F150s like yours to compare.

Interesting. Mine was an early build. I hadn’t seen those threads, but I’ll try to do some searching. I’m new to the forum. There is no way my seat can be right.

I found the Chevy seat to be narrower when comparing.

Interesting. Here are the interior specs for my 2016 in pic 1, the 2021 in pic 2.

Seems that the interior shoulder room and hip room are exactly the same.

Maybe take a tape measure down to the dealer and measure a 2020 to verify how much difference there is in seat width. Tell us how it goes.

My 2016 Platty seat is 20.5", welt-to-welt, widest point.

I’ve posted on this issue on a separate forum. Since then, I’ve had time to think more about what’s bothering me with the seats. I don’t think it’s the width - I think it’s the lack of any side bolstering to keep my legs (in particular, my left leg) from sliding off the seat, especially during curves. My King Ranch seats are like marshmallows vs. my old 2011 King Ranch seats, which are still very firm to this day and provide side support.

My 21 KR seat is 19” wide in the front and 15” wide in the rear. The only other 21 we’ve measured is a XLT. The XLT measures 21” wide in the front and 17” wide in the rear. I’ve not measured a Lariat, but have been in one. The seat base on the Lariat is also a couple inches wider than mine.

My KR has small bolsters. The flat space in the middle is tiny and the left bolster hits me in the hamstring. My left leg is continually sliding off the seat too. I’ve not been in another 21 King Ranch, but I had a 2020 King Ranch. It’s still at my dealer. That seat is enormous compared to my current seat. I sat in it the other day to make sure it was as I remembered it.. I really think my truck has an issue.

Let us know what you find out. I just went out and measured my 2021 KR - 19 inches at the front, 20.5 mid seat, 17 at the back. I then measured my 2011 KR seats, which I find very comfortable - they’re 19 at the front 21 mid seat, and 17 at the back. But they have more pronounced bolsters on the side. And the seat isn’t wedged right up against the console, which the 2021 is. I think that’s also part of the issue - the 2021 seat is literally touching the console, almost tucked up underneath it. I suppose they had to do this to fit in the extra wide console. Last comment on the 2021 - I love the leather, but it’s very slippery. So for me, to summarize, it’s 3 things: 1) lack of more bolstering, 2) slippery leather, 3) no space between right side of seat and console, pushing me a bit to the left.
