ok perfect. i'll take a look tomorrow when its light out. would i spray it with some lithium lube or what?
Yes, that would work, it isn't a permanent fix, but good enough to see if that's the trouble.
And yep, jacking the truck up would likely be easiest, just be sure to use jackstands too, safety first.
Got my truck lifted yesterday. Good shop, good reputation. Then this morning I went to play around with the adjustments and see this amateur crap. Makes me lose all trust in the install at this point. The adjustment **** is rubbing heavily on the metal (frame?), can't even adjust, its pressed against it solidly. With the unknown amount of pressure exerted on the ****, is the shock compromised now? I'm bringing the truck in first thing Monday, but I'm wondering if I should have them replace the entire shock. This is some bs.
Good morning. Feel free to send us a DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage. We'd be happy to look into this for you.
The spring pads are those plastic like thingys on your leafs towards the end on the second leaf down. Easy to get to, just take a prybar between the leafs, and you'll get plenty of room to R/R.
are you talking about the ones circled in red?
here are some more pics of what i have down there:
Also, I haven't noticed this before, at least when I was doing my oil change, that the differential has a potential leak? Is this semi-normal or should I tighten this plug?
