Default Service Intervals

Just wondering what the service intervals and recommendations are for a MY23 5.0?

Ford recommendations are in the owners manual such as it is. If you're looking for opinions I do engine oil and filter at 5K on everything, trans and transfer case at 60ishK (I'm in the drop pan and change filter fan club), axles around 100K unless I suspect I got in deep water, engine and cabin air around 30k but I tend to watch what they look like and could be early. I can't say I've ever changed brake fluid based on time or miles but I admit that probably isn't the correct answer. Wipers when needed. Muffler bearings once a month

Oooohh I've maybe heard old timers tell kids that can't figure out a noise in their car that it sounds like the muffler bearings.

Muffler bearings. The manual talks about them right after reminding you to refill the blinker fluid. Page 435.

Do you mean like a break in period? That used to be a thing and a few swear by it still. I personally don't, but if short changing the first oil change on your new vehicle makes you feel better an early oil change certainly won't hurt anything. Jim

Y'all do whatever you want, but breakin is still a real thing. My truck: I changed oil and filter at 500 miles, then every 5000. (This is like discussing abortion, or religion.) In my twisted old brain, you want to get the FOD from manufacturing out of your brand new high tech engine asap. It's been shown over and over that wear metals are highest during the breakin period, even now. Ymmv. Do what you want...but oil changes are relatively dang cheap in comparison to these horribly overpriced vehicles.

I have that truck too. Maintenance starts on page 672. I don't agree with the 150K mile items (transmission, differentials, transfer case, drive belt and coolant). Especially if you are towing, hauling as I do. Ford wants you to buy a new vehicle at this point.https://www.fordservicecontent.com/F...1_om_EN-US.pdf
