Default Reverse braking assist inoperable

Hello! I just took delivery of my 2021 Supercrew Friday. It’s my second f150 and I traded my Mercedes AMG C43 on it as my wife and I are expecting and my 7 year old and I are getting pretty outdoorsy.

anyway! The reverse braking assist is unavailable. I’ve tried checking all the doors and backing up slowly in a straight line.

Any help? Or is this going in for service already?

thank you much! Good to be back in a truck!

I get that message occasionally. I just wipe off the sensors and it goes away. I think you can turn it off/on in the settings. Is it turned on? I forget exactly where the toggle is in the menu.

Yeah I have it turned off right now I just don’t know if I really feel good about having a feature not working on a new truck. Sensors are clean. Going to check and make sure they are all connected next I guess.

I looked this up in the 2021 Owner's Manual...seems like you've checked the things it seems to check. Sucks to have to take it in already.

Try this, start the vehicle, turn the feature back on, back up very slowly in a straight line. Obviously make sure you have a clear area behind you. This worked for me.

thanks! Your thread is what I read and got optimistic about. I’ll try that here this morning.

Still super irritating. Were you getting the message every start?
