I appreciate you saying this too. Is reversing all we need to do to fix it ?

I believe so. Enable it and then drive a short distance in reverse per the manual. Make sure the area is clear behind you. I had tried this process initially and it didn't work but several days later it worked.

I only get this message when Traction Control is turned off. Sorry to say but the more digital the trucks get the more glitchy they will be.

It's happening in my brand new truck that does not have a liner. I will try the short back up. What a nuisance! I wish we could turn off the notification with forscan!

ran forscan this afternoon to get a DTC, its a hard set and will not clear without action.
I put it in the picture, i have

to go see my dealer in AM will have them align and do the TBC recall

even if taigate was not unplugged there may be an alignment issue . anything can set it, disconnected batteries for long period , but mainly not following steps in book to remove tailgate before startign engine

I get this same message from time to time. Spray in bed liner was applied at the dealer prior to the purchase. Taking it in for multiple TSB repairs and issues soon. I’ll ask about this one.

Is the same feature supposed to work in forward? I figured it would but I was purposely pulling very close to my garage and I could have easily pushed right through. Also, my emergency break warning kicks on from time to time but the truck has never applied the breaks automatically. Could this be a similar issue that the sensors need to reset? I know my front pumper was taken off when it had to be repainted after the paint was damaged sitting on the Dearborn lot for months waiting on microchips.

I have the same issue—have to back in to fit under storage cupboards mounted on the back wall and also have to fit between the side wall and the steps into the house. My 2017 F150 didn’t have the auto breaking and let me push a buttom to shut off the premature screaming but my new 2023…GRRRR! I figured out how to turn off the auto breaking but I can’t turn off the sound. When getting home late at night it was nice not making my neighbours hear that god awful noise!

** Thought I was replying specifically to KGB81’s post about brake assist engaging in their garage. Sorry…newbie forum user.

I had the same issue. Took it to the dealer. They applied the procedure in TSB 22-2214 which resolved the issue. Sadly, it cost me $450 in labor. It would have been covered under the 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty, but though I'm only at 33,000 it's been 4 years. At least it's resolved.

Default Camera Alignment

I had the Reverse Brake Assist Not Available message and did all the things everyone else in this thread did. Took the truck in for the rear axle recall and asked them to fix the error message while they were at it. Turns out the rear camera needed a slight alignment. Tech realigned camera and cleared codes. All is well.

I was not about to hit anything at all, just the system didnt like how I was parking.
Yea I leave that crap turned off...

We could probably turn off the warning in ForScan that it's off.
