Reverse binding then neutral drop…
appreciate it. Pretty sure it’s a transmission issue, not soft braking. Headed to the dealership Thursday and will report back.
it seems it might be happening after sitting for some time on a slight incline. I’m wondering if maybe it’s low on transmission fluid and that’s causing an issue…. We’ll see soon enough!

There was some serious transmission issue where the wheel was cut it would start binding, hesitate for a second, and do a neutral drop. However, even after getting the service department to recreate it, their solution was “we don’t know; just keep driving it and whatever is messed up will eventually break”
Hey guys - I have a '21 Tremor built in late November, picked up about a month ago. 7xx miles on it.... three times now I've had an issue where when I put the truck into reverse, and it'll somewhat bind up - almost feels like when you're in 4WD and have an issue turning - where it'll go back in reverse but needs some effort. It almost feels more like the brake is on, but it isn't. When I put it into drive it lags behind going into gear, then essentially does a neutral drop with a loud CLUNK, then drops into gear.
My thought is that when I'm backing up and this has happened, it's been when there are other cars around parked at odd angles to where it isn't exactly like a parking lot, and I think the truck is inappropriately turning on the automatic breaking feature trying not to hit another car that it thinks is close by, but then not going into gear right away when I put it in Drive. Has anyone else experienced issues with this? I'm going to ask the dealer to flash the ECU with the newest updates, as I see there are some TSB's that talk about gear issues, but nothing specific to this, and wanted to see if anyone had seen/heard/experienced this for themselves.
FWIW, this happens when the car has been parked an I’m hopping in and turning it on, then throwing it in reverse. Truck is in 2h and normal driving mode. It’s almost like the transmission is trying to do something different than it is being told to do by me (if that makes sense).
Thanks in advance!

Lets try an experiment. Before shifting out of park, release the e brake. Then put it into reverse. Any little experiments like this will help the dealer tech diagnose the issue and tells him, you have thought through the potential scenarios, and are part of the solution.
I'm amazed at the range the BLIS/reverse alerting system has. Had a person on a bicycle trigger the system yesterday
