Default Remote Tailgate to Power Tailgate

Anyone know if it is possible to convert power tailgate release to power tailgate? XLT doesn’t have option for power tailgate it seems but does remote release down.

I'd like to see what mechanical components are involved, see if it could be retro-fitted onto a 2020...just for grins. I know some will say, "Jeebus...it takes 2 seconds to close the damned tailgate!" but it IS fairly heavy and I can see how a person of limited strength or perhaps with a disability would really benefit from a power tailgate.

FYI, the non-powered tailgate with step is internally different then the power up-down tailgate. You'd need a whole tailgate assembly off a Lariat+ truck to accomplish this.

^ and if I understand it all correctly, the internal drive mechanism prohibits having a tailgate step...

How about if the tailgate it the remote release without the step? Would it then be easier and not be different internally?

My 21 Platinum has powered tailgate and the tailgate step. It is a nice feature if hands are full with groceries.

All powered tailgates have the step. All powered tailgates are different internally from the non-powered tailgate.

Remote release is just the latch. Two totally different animals.

That part I understand. I am really just curious if it is possible to upgrade or install a kit per se for for power tailgate, or if it is possible to replace the tailgate with a power tailgate? Or if there would maybe need to have even more wiring ran from computer to the tailgate?
