Recommendation windshield replacement 2022 xlt
So I got a chip which turned into a crack this afternoon. I want to make sure I get an eom windshield like what’s on it now. Has a ford sticker and what not on it. Sad I probably won’t get the dear born stuff on it. Any recommendations with my Insurance company and or who to do it. Thanks update insurance won’t put an oem on it. Bc no one told me about this oem thing on my policy. Had they I would had added it. I have now added it and will wait for the next rock to crack it and then get an oem. So stupid

You can pay the difference and get the glass you want. The price difference between factory and aftermarket glass may be lower than you expect, insurance companies don't care if the price difference is only $1, they will always go with the cheapest option.
Be careful with OEM parts endorsements from insurance companies, especially if you're dealing with Nationwide. I paid extra money for the OEM parts endorsement, read the policy contract in full, and I only asked for what I was entitled to under the policy. When I filed a claim, Nationwide told me they wouldn't use OEM parts because they were too expensive and body filler is good enough. I switched to Geico and now I get the same coverage for half the price.

Aftermarket glass isn't necessarily inferior to OEM. It's like all other parts, some might be better, some the same, some are worse.
Confer with the glass company as to which ones the think are which.
Sometimes we overthink things. At the end of the day, it's just glass, so as long as you can see through it and the urethane doesn't leak, you'll never know the difference in any of them.

I had my windshield replaced about a month ago. Thankfully USAA approved Ford glass w/o any pushback.
One consideration, go to a reputable shop (read this as not safelite) and ask them to measure where the windshield is located now and place new on in the same location; you may not need a camera alignment.
That $200+ less cost to deal with.

1.) If you shop for value in insurance, know what it pays for and does not pay for so there are no surprises.
2.) Watch the installing company. I recently selected Safelite because of good referrals and the insurance recommended them. I even called them to verify my appointment and also that I would get the original windshield. I was told I was slated for an aftermarket, but they would change it. (Hmm was this something they are in cahoots with the insurance to save money?) The day of install, I was shown 2 windshields: one that had F150 across the top and the other that said FORD. Neither had the "Sound Screen" logo so I inquired. The installer said they can get it, but the 2 he had were a "sound screen" glass made for Ford by Carlite. I did a quick google search and verified what he said and had the glass installed. He also told me that if I found out differently or was not pleased, they would change the glass.
I have Amica and believe that my policy has a higher level of glass coverage which was an option.
Good luck!
