Need some other feedback before I go to the dealer, but the 2021 rear camera has terrible picture and resolution. I did some searches and a few people mentioned cleaning etc, but I noticed this the first time I put it in reverse leaving the dealer. Is the camera really this bad in reverse? Its blurry, weirdly shaped and odd looking and straight up not what should be on a 2021 vehicle.
Im hoping mine is just bad and they will replace it but im guessing the replies will be similar
Sounds bad, would help to include more detail though. What truck trim do you have, 12" or 8" screen, maybe a picture of what you consider bad, do you have 360 cameras and if so do the others look better, etc.
Mine is incredibly clear, nothing I would describe as blurry. Only thing that could qualify is weirdly shaped may be certain edges of the 360 cam angles since it is trying to stitch together multiple images to create one consistent image, and that always make the world look a little different than reality. But not bad or blurry.

I have 12 inch, only rear camera. XLT I am not sure how to post up a pic but I can try. so its just the rear view on the full large screen. I just am a bit disapointed i feel like my 2016 small screen was much better.
Here is an example from mine. It coming from a picture I am taking is going to take a little away from it. But to me I can’t imagine needing more quality and don’t see any obvious issues.

Take a pic with your phone and post.
I have a 2021 XLT with 12" screen and it's pretty darn clear
As other have stated I have the 12 inch and the camera on mine is extremely sharp. Every time I use the 360 cameras on it I am still amazed at how clear and sharp the images are. Not sure if it makes a difference I have a 21 Limited.
Im finding its more in the details on the "further" objects. Looks very blurry. Its pouring rain here and just tried and just doesnt help and makes it far worse. By the time i wipe it and jump back in there is water on the lens. On the picture you posted the plants to the left are blurry so I am thinking im expecting to much I guess. I have just seen some really clear cameras on friends vehicles etc and was a tad disapointed with such a large screen and still some blurred images. But based on the pic its probably the same.
Hmm, I guess. I think they all look fine. I don't understand needing more detail from it. If it was recording that may be one thing, but you also need to consider the amount of image you are getting before comparing to another camera on another vehicle. These are very wide angle images that we get, especially considering they cover the entire width of a truck, and almost any wide angle lens is going to have more distortion at the edges.
You can still tell there are vehicles there and what they are doing. Even if another vehicle has comparable field of view and better clarity, so what? If it's a camera on a Focus, it doesn't need to have the same field of view as an F-150 to cover the entire rear. So it has a narrower FOV and will have better immediate image quality.
Not trying to knock you for your concern or anything at all, just explaining why there would be differences even between vehicles, and maybe having you ask yourself why if a vehicle is a little blurry further away even matters to you. Rear cameras are simply for seeing what is behind you and what may be out of your view on the sides. Your picture indicates it does that, any additional "quality" is useless.
Nah its all good I get it.
I think my expectations were higher is all. But yeah I understand what you are saying, what it should be used for etc. appreciate all the help and confirmation.
