I have owned my '26 F 150 for about ( 5 ) weeks now. A week after my purchase I noticed a blemish on the fuel filler door. On the outside edge, looks like a pretty good size chip, but this has obviously been clear coated over because it is absolutely smooth and you cannot feel it at all. Before I took ownership, I took pictures of the truck on the dealers lot. Sure enough, on the side shot you can see it if you zoom in. The dealer is not contesting that the blemish was there before my purchase. He says he has gone back to Ford and they are working on it etc. Same answer for the last three times I asked
.
I think this is going nowhere. Short of taking the cover to a body shop to repaint, or just leave it. Any chance a dealer could order that door painted my color for sale to me?
Pic attached.
Thanks!
no those are not sold pre painted from ford would need to be painted. The dealer is probably working on getting prior approval from ford before they move forward with repairs. Any cosmetic issue on a vehicle with an in-service time of 3 months or less ford needs to approve repairs on
