Question Question about tailgate lock

I had a tailgate lock installed by my dealer to prevent tailgate theft. My question is does this lock prevent the auto tailgate from functioning? I have a 2021 F-150 King Ranch. I can't get my tailgate to drop using my FOB or to lift by partially manually lifting the tailgate as the manual suggests. Is there a switch I am missing or is this just not working? Or is my tailgate lock interfering with the auto open close?
Thanks

I guess I'd wonder why you're not asking the dealer? We don't know what they did to install the lock, or what kind of lock you are referring to.

When closed, and locked, a tailgate can't just be lifted off. The locks that cover a portion of the hinge area, like a radiator clamp, simply make it harder to lift it off when it's not physically locked. They should not interfere with anything if properly installed.

Do you in fact have the power tailgate (you'd be surprised that people have manual and don't know it.

Also, the fob should unlock and open the gate even if it is manual with the electronic release.
Does it lower if you push the tailgate button instead of the FOB

All that aside -the dealership service department should probably explain to you how to use it as was mentioned above.
Or see the post above me about actually enabling the feature.

My power tailgate was also turned to manual when I picked it up. Had to turn it on within the vehicle settings in the center digital display.

Although not by any means what so ever a foolproof means of threat detterent, I noticed that there is now a bolt installed on the hinge side you lift out to remove the tailgate.
