Default proximity sensor?

just got the 22 f150. had a 13. when I locked the door either with the key for or the keypad on the door I could check the handle to make sure it is locked. it seems with the 22 when I lock it with key fob, and then try the door it unlocks. im guessing its because of some proximity thing with the fob. im thinking this bc it was an option on my wife's jeep we declined. is there anyway to disable it? call it paranoia but I like to check to see if the doors are locked.

It unlocks when your fingers touch the back of the front door handle. According to the manual, there's supposed to be a few seconds when you can "pull to check" but it never worked for me.

I know it sucks. I hate the fact I can't check

If your OCD won't let you walk away without checking the door.......Check the back door instead. Also....If you have the fob in your hand/pocket, just touch the little button on the outside of the door handle and you can hear the doors locking. Or....lock your doors and throw your fob as far as you can, then check the doors.

There is also a setting, I can't remember just where, that if your truck fails to lock(door ajar, etc.)the horn beeps twice. Mine does this.

I have been able to check the front doors by not touching the back of the door handle. Basically just pinching the top and bottom of the door handle.

Just look inside the window and you can clearly see if it's locked or not.

One of the best reasons to get a Lariat or higher. Set up the mirrors to auto-fold when the doors are locked. One glance from a distance away and you know if you're locked or not.
