Default pre-collision assist error

OK, starting getting pre-collision assist error a couple of days ago. What all is involved in this system. I cleaned off the piece of plastic that the sensor resides behind, also wiped off the sensor. Are there any camera's involved, or is it strictly radar driven. Also, just got 2.8.2 update today, so I am hoping this will not affect BC operation, but assuming it will. I am leveled on 34's, but that was done back in Dec 21 and this is the first time the problem has come up..

When you had your bumpers wrapped, did they have to remove the bumper? Disconnect modules or sensors? Could be related?

No, wrap was done without removing bumpers. Plus, bumpers have been wrapped for almost 3 weeks now. Parking sensors work fine. They put wrap over the parking sensors, but I have cut that out thinking it was related. I do have some new park sensors to put on that are black, just haven't had time to do it.

Hi there. This pre-collision assist concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

It also uses the camera top center of your windshield.

OK, have an appt with dealer on 11 July, so we shall see. Adaptive cruise, regular cruise, and auto high beams all stopped working as well. This all started after the 2.8.1 update came through. 2.8.2 and 2.8.3 all came through within the next couple of days and fordpass notified me of blue cruise being activated. Hoping dealer can fix it easily

update - dealer told me there was a known issue after the trailer brake controller update/recall, so when 2.8.1 came in that is where the issue was. I was told today that they have to replace the pre-collision assist module, which I could not find in the forscan spreadsheet, however that could mean that we cannot do anything to it. They had to order one from ford, will have it next Tuesday. They also asked me what size lift/level I had so they can program it accordingly..

I've had my truck a little over a year and have 17K miles on it. The pre-collision warning has went off on my truck more times than I can remember, when it was obvious that there was NO danger of a collision at all. A few times it has went off with me sitting in a parking lot...totally still, not moving...and NO moving vehicles in sight.
