Im looking into doing ppf on b pillars. Piano black scratches just looking at it. I bought the screen protech b pillar clear film, but bubbles in my first shot at it. Ive seen OCD plug has black film. Im up in the air on returning this stuff and letting a local shop do it for $150 max. Anyone have pics of theirs wrapped? Ive also heard PPF has a orange peel to it?
thanks in advance.

I have the OCD film, nice stuff and worth it in my opinion. Easy install with comprehensive instructions. No swirls now, although it does still fingerprint pretty bad. Wife can’t figure out how to close the door without using that specific area ha ha. Nothing a microfiber towel won’t fix.
Another vote for the OCDPlug film. I had swirls on mine and also when offroading scratched one of the pillars from a tree branch. It covered all of it and about a year in now they look good as new, better even.
I bought some vinyl decals from https://www.americantrucks.com back in 2016 for my 2016 F150. Just recently sold that truck after my 2023 model came in. But the decals held up very well. No peeling or anything. Matte black. Hopefully my picture will come through showing the difference. Held up to all weather conditions and numerous car washes. I thought the matte looked better with the molding along the windows.
I got the black OCD film and had my tint guy install them when he did the windows. They look great with no bubbles. If anything they could've been cut a little wider as there's maybe a 1/8" gap along the edge, but you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it.
did you have any bubbles? hard to install? thanks.
Insanely easy install. I did the pillars, the 12" center screen, and then did my wife's Mach-e pillars and center screen and instrument cluster. They are cut very well and my recommendation is to get a big spray bottle and mix up a bunch of the solution (they give you the mixing ratios on their site and in the install video), and then spray the hell out of them. Make sure you are not doing it under direct sun or the solution will dry faster than you like.
With them sprayed with the solution, you have plenty of time to put it in place and make minor adjustments. Zero bubbles on any of the installs. If you massively screw up placement just pull them off, respray, and do it again (as long as you are quick of course, once they dry, it isn't easy to remove). They send you a stiff squeegee for working out any bubbles.
I was stressed about it and have zero automotive detailing or tinting or PPF experience, but it was one of the easiest things I have done to the truck.
