Default Powerboost turbo issues

Powerboosts...

Anyone notice a sort of flutter or misfire vibration intermittent when traveling in 8-9-10th gear. Highway speeds. Like 50-80mph when turbos are called for?

Only cruising and casual climbing speed I notice when turbos engage around 6-9psi I get a noticeable judder or hesitation vibration through the body of the truck.

Kind of subtle. Sometimes more aggresive.

But.
When no turbos are called for. It's smooth as glass.

Been doing a bunch of highway driving of late and not noticed any turbo issues when engaging them at highspeed.

Nope, just had a long drive this past weekend, it's all smooth. I feel like something like this came up elsewhere, I recommend checking where you got gas and maybe try premium on next fill up and use a different gas station.

It's the transmission shuddering. I know this because mine does the same thing and has done it since brand new. Have 6,000 miles on it now. Was told by a Ford engineer that it's "normal". Well, its not normal and in my opinion is unacceptable.

It sounds like you and the OP are experiencing something the rest of us are not... I recommend you both push the issue with service.

Oh trust me I have!

The exact words from the engineer where it's an "undesirable characteristic" of the 10 speed transmission.

You're absolutely correct not everyone experiences it. My buddy has a 21 powerboost and his is fine. We swapped for the weekend and he was ready to swap back after experiencing it. I of course didn't feel a thing in his.

It will also go away if you hammer on it or you press the throttle enough for it to down shift. It feels like the engine can't handle the torque load.

They did a reprogramming of the shift sequence and it didn't change a thing.

Based on not everyone having that experience, I'd call bull**** on the engineer and escalate it. You're entitled to better.
