Default Powerboost Remote Start Question

I have a 2024 XLT PB and have a remote start question. It’s been cold here lately and I like to use the remote start to warm it up a bit when leaving work. The problem is the truck is running when I get to it but the heat is not on and neither is the seat heater until I actually start the truck with my foot on the break. What is the point of remote stop if the heat doesn’t turn on? I set the temperature usually on HI and the seat heater on HI with the app when I start the truck. Is this normal or am I missing a setting somewhere? Have had many F150s with remote start and never had this issue. Thanks for the help!

I have the opposite situation. I live in FL and use remote start to cool off the car. That works.

I'm assuming as soon as you start it with your foot on the brake, it goes back to the settings you had before.

Just to check, what are you seeing in your Ford app? When you first slide to start, you should get the one line summary of the climate settings. (On mine, 70° with seat and wheel heating, circled below.)

If you hit that little up arrow/caret, you get the full climate screen, where you can select heated/cooled seats and heated wheel:

So, if you've done all that and still don't get heated seat and wheel, there is something wrong. Maybe your battery has dropped to a lower voltage/SoC with the colder weather and electrical systems are starting to act up? Do you have an OBD II scanner to check battery status? Also, you could have gotten a recent automatic update that messed things up? (I'm not aware of any but have read this can happen and lead to this result.) FWIW, my 2025 PB Lariat is working fine (though I do keep a NOCO battery tender on it to keep it fully charged). Good luck!

In my best Hank Hill voice....Dang it bobby. This reminds me I was going to power up my aftermarket butt warmers from a circuit that is active during remote start session in my truck. My STX does kick the ac/heater on as needed based on current temp but I'd like my aftermarket cheapo heater to also be nice and toasty when I jump in the truck.

I have and had the same problem as the Original Poster here (remote start, no heat or seat heat until entering the truck, and pressing Start). I've been through every setting in the truck several times to no avail.

I just started my truck remotely, and DO NOT have the Climate Settings you show here in the app. (No bar & Icons below the Schedule options) I have a feeling these two things are connected.

Would love to have this work. Regards, Jim

You have to make sure it's set to auto climate even with the app turned on heat/heat for some trucks.

Now, you have to realize on a PB once the interior temp gets some heat, the ICE will cycle on and off and not really get the coolant warmer than 135ish. Just a nature of the beast. Once the high voltage battery is charged enough, the truck will switch to being powered by it unless you want HI heat.

Yep, Auto under Remote Start -> Seat - Steering Wheel (also Climate set to Auto).
Start vehicle with remotely with app (or key fob); go out after 5 minutes. Ice cold. 'Lights' up after pressing Start.
Several people on this forum have reported this over the years. No solution I have seen.
thanks, Jim

I do get all that on the app and have messed with everything except I don’t have heated steering wheel because Ford is cheap and didn’t add it to a $72k truck. My guess is it is an update issue. I will check my battery soon as well. Thanks
