Default Powerboost and Generator

First time using generator to power travel trailer

have it hooked to 30 amp plug in back and truck is running and connected to trailer with adapter

3 questions

1. Why is A side 0?

on screen in truck only B is pushing power , can anyone explain why A is 0 watts and how a/b relate to the outlet plugs in back of truck?

2. why is best practice to turn off inside electronics?

Or how to turn off car and leave generator running with no lights and no dashboard etc. I still see lights on dashboard when turning truck off.

3. How to turn off car and leave generator running?

when I turn off truck the power stops to trailer. See picture when off the blue light is off and indicates no power to trailer

Do you have the 7.2kW generator option? I have never seen that screen. Is this the screen in newer F150 PB?

I dim the inside lights as low as possible. Turn off the infotainment screen. Leave engine ON. Close door. Lock it (with key with you of course).

You have to leave car ON.

thank you for reply. Yes, this is 2024 F150 Lariat PowerBoost. We have the 7.2kW. One 30 amp and 4 “regular” plugs in bed of truck.

The large outlet in the bed is 240V, your adapter only uses a single hot because your camper only uses 120V. That is why your screen only shows usage on the B side. If you needed to run an extension cord for any reason, plug into the b side 120V outlet.

You can buy an instrument panel cover from bucking rabbit. Turn off your A/C and your center screen to kill the other lights.

C: You HAVE to leave the truck on. You can take your keys with you and lock it with the app (as you have a 24 so no door keypad). If you turn off the truck, you just turned off the generator.

2024's have secure code. 2025's had them removed. Easy enough to add it back.

Oh yea, I had it backwards. 26 SuperDuty adds them back too.

Does the overhead console not have a button to kill the interior lights entirely?

Yes it does. Mine are all LED so current draw is minimal. Yes I have messed with the switches and managed to leave mine on 24x7...... with no adverse effects.

I have been camping with my 2022 PB for 3 years now. My screen does not look like yours, but I turn all lights off in the cab plus the headlights. The truck stays running when charging then turns off. Restarts itself when needed. Both sides show activity when needed. Say with coffee pot on, fridge on. and lights. This truck is awesome for camping where no electricity is available like in Colorado while fly fishing in remote areas. Love my PB.
