In the past two severe cold days (zero to sub-zero) temps here in Colorado I've noticed that my Powerboost seems to randomly develop issues. The truck is in an insulated garage normally.
This morning @6:00 I warmed up the truck and drove 3.7 miles to the gym. The truck was completely warmed up by the time I got there. At 7:30 I started my truck using remote start. When I got in the truck and pressed the start button my center consoled put up a warning that my onboard power generator required maintenance and to contact the dealer.
I let the truck run for about two more minutes and shut it off. Let it stand for a minute restarted and everything was working fine.
So the question to our friends up North have you all seen any random failure messages that clear up when the truck is warmed up?
Appreciate any feedback!
My shifter wouldn't go from neutral to drive this morning, then my steering column wouldn't unlock. Maybe I was being too fast for it.
On the return trip...when the truck should have been fully warmed...my shifter faulted going from drive to reverse, getting stuck in neutral until I tried to cycle it again...and it physically was in reverse but the sensor hadn't been tripped.

Is there any snow or ice buildup on the truck bed power outlets?
I know electric cars need to "condition" their batteries to have full charge on cold days. If its plugged in that will condition the battery. When unplugged, they use battery power and range to achieve the same goal.
The power boost gets no different treatment than any other previously owned vehicle.
No issues whats so ever.
When in the non heated garage. Open the garage door, get in truck back it out close garage door and away we go.
When the truck is sitting out in the cold on the lake ice fishing or anywhere else same deal.
Put gear into the truck jump in and go, no warm up time.
If and only warm up time would be if and when the windows need to be cleared while sitting out side.
Yes many friends call me a polar bear but these new vehicles are ready to go.
So far this year and your welcome to look it up central Wisconsin has several below zero days this winter.
16F right now with snow. Heading back down below zero in the near future.
This is my first hybrid so I'm assuming there's either a learning curve or gremlins.
The only issue I've had with my PB was that my battery crapped out (not the hybrid battery, just the 12V one) at 5500 miles or so. Part of me wonders if it is due to the frequent "restarts" when it switches back to the main engine from the electric motor, or maybe it was just a defective battery - seems like there were quite a few with 2021 F-150s.
My 2018 chewed through three batteries because of the auto stop/start feature in 38k miles.
After third battery I noticed that if the Battery Management system didn't recognize a full capacity battery it would deactivate auto stop/start. (The engine status would indicate charging battery.)
I lived with it in that condition until I traded it in on the '21.
My battery died the other day. I'm in Texas and we got sudden days of freezing weather a couple weeks ago. I warmed up the truck with remote start, got in and backed out of the driveway, went to accelerate and it died. Wouldn't turn or shift out of park. Immediately got a big red stop truck safely now. The battery light was light up, and I keep a NOCO GBX55 in my truck, so I was able to jump it. Started fine and no issues since. Had the dealer check everything out during routine maintenance and everything is cool.
