Default Power Windows

Everyone who knows me, knows I hate power windows in vehicles. The last vehicle I owned with power windows was a 1987 F-150. Thirty-seven years later, surly Ford would get it right. Not! A week before my bumper-to-bumper warranty was to expire on my 2021 F-150, my driver side window started to act up. Called the dealership and scheduled the earliest time. Earliest time was 8 days after the warranty expiration. Ford will not honor the warranty. What's happening is, the window will not go down when I press the switch. Sometimes after multiple presses, it will go down. Other times I have to continue to hold the button from two to five plus seconds before it starts. It goes up every time I pull on the switch. I've tried resetting the window per You Tube videos without success. It would work flawlessly for the moment. Until I try it out a while later. If anyone out there has some ideas, I would sure appreciate it.

Welcome, maybe find a truck in a salvage lot and buy the switch and see if that resolves the issue? Here is a new aftermarket for $35 on amazon, if this is it:

Buy a switch, they’re relatively cheap, and replace it. While I haven’t had to do it yet I do not believe it’s hard to do.
These switches are a problem and others have went this route.
Search the web and there is info on it.

You have a failing switch, mine did the same thing, ford replaced the switch under warranty, and no issues since. The switch is not that much, and i dont think its too difficult to replace.

I'm on my 3rd master window switch. Last one was replaced in March right before my warranty expired. FYI, they're 25 bucks.

My 2013 was doing the same thing….press down on the pass window, and the window goes down, pull up and nothing.
it turns out these later F-150s love to break wires between the door and the coach. Cheaper coatings on the wire and hard copper alloy.
The solution was with the help @Newbie 5, patch the door wires or replace the wires…. I chose replacing the entire driver’s door wiring harness.

Thanks tbird. It's an intermittent problem. Alway in the down position. never up. For now. I've been reluctant to buy a new switch because I hate easter egging while troubleshooting. Will definitely check wiring.
