Default Power tailgate seal

Anyone install a weather seal on the power tailgate? I would like to install one but not sure the gate would close all the way with the power close. Thank you for your consideration.

Is this a thing? I'm interested and want to know more. =)

As long as you install the seal from the inside with the gate closed, wouldn't that ensure its not an issue?

I think he means one of those foam like ones that are adhered to the bed while the tailgate is open and makes a water tight seal when shut.

my tonneau cover came with one a few years ago but I never installed it. May attempt it on my 2021 here soon, but I only have remote release tailgate so I wouldn’t be of help to the power tailgate situation!!

Minor detail, but foam would be for dust or heat... for a weather seal, you'd need a rubber gasket me thinks.

Yeah, I guess it isn’t foam but that is what I was thinking of was those like foam strips!!! Likely more like rubber or something.

Edit: Found mine in the garage and this is the one that came with mine (just sold separately here)

I've installed this weather stripping. Works good so far. No issues with tailgate closing.

I'm looking at the ESI ultimate universal tailgate seal. Reviews have it rated number one, it's P shaped and self adhering . After watching several videos of the little drive motor for the tailgate going bad and replaced , I'm not sure it would hold up to the added resistance when closing. I'm going to talk with the dealer and see if it would effect the warranty. I'll share my findings tomorrow.
