Does anyone have an idea why this happens to leather and not cloth? Or at least I’ve never noticed it on any of the vehicles I’ve owned.
I have never had leather, so I have no idea.

The covering is paper thin on both the genuine leather and ‘pleather’ materials. Take a look at leather quality and thickness on high end cars and it’ll jump right out at you.

It’s like veneer wood vs. solid wood. Same look on the outside for a fraction of the cost, at the expense of durability/longevity.
