Default Phone keypad disabled while driving

Any work around for this? Most calls to businesses, doctors offices, Ford dealerships, etc always answer with “Hit 1 for English, 2 for Service, 3 for blah blah…”. If the truck is moving, the keypad is disabled. This is so effin’ stupid because it will cause more distracted driving while F150 drivers are reaching for their smartphones to hit the appropriate key for the call.

If there is Forscan fix for this, I gonna have to learn Forscan programming!

What year is your truck? Are you connected via bluetooth or CarPlay? If CarPlay, Apple or Andriod? I use Apple CarPlay, and can touch the keypad on the center screen or on my phone on my 23 - I think (need to verify)

Phone keypad used to be accessible when driving on my '22 using CarPlay. After one of the updates several months ago, the keypad is now disabled, just like OP said. Immensely frustrating.

I have 2022 and I'm using Apple CarPlay connected via Bluetooth. I have tried using Ford Sync after disabling CarPlay, but that did not work either.

Wonder what update? I am up to date with Apple (ios 17.4.1), but aside from the Powertrain/low battery update I got just yesterday, the last update I got was 4.5 back in Oct

Same here. Using CarPlay I used to have access to keypad on the screen but not now. Truck did update a couple weeks ago, I guess that’s it. Had to get my phone out and use the numbers on the iPhone. Be good to know how to get that back. Ironically, it’s more hazardous to execute this workaround than if they’d left the damn functionality in.

There is a ton of silent updates running around appleland improving the connections to TVs, cars etc. Why apple can't issue a release without screwing up everything is beyond my payscale and understanding. 48 hours ago they fixed the connection to Samsung tvs so they now show up and stream easily. Ford's wireless connection was busted for some time. Now it works again.
Haven't had to do what you are trying to do for sometime.

Its also frustrating that so many other functions remain available while driving while the ones that aren't available seem random. Then, add in a passenger (verified via the seat & buckle sensors) and those options still aren't available. Why can't a passenger do that stuff?

CP is in the midst of massive overhaul which has triggered multiple "failures" like the inability to used the screen. Hopefully the update that will come down the line will resolve this loss.

Rather than screw them up more.
