Default Partner Plan question

Used a partner code from a friend to eyeball the site and see if i could tell what sort of price i'd be looking at on a 21 xlt 4x4 supercab.... when looking at their price device... it looks like it only gives a couple of prices for the base truck itself... if i select a driveline, cab or trim... most of them come back saying pricing is unavailable.
Beffore i register with a partner like EAA... is that the way that tool works.... or once you have a pin... is there a more extensive tool to price out wholly configured trucks?

I've seen another thread here that says the partner price is 99.6 of invoice plus 275. guaranteed 100 paperwork fee limit. and i thought it said the other incentives kick in still? have I got that right?

You have the pricing formula correct.

Ignore the table of prices. Go to Build and Price, AFTER logging in, and it will show you the X-Plan price.

I did an inventory search... and it shows a truck i'm looking at at one dealer the net xplan price listed right there. when i compare that to the after discoiunts price listed on the dealer's own site... the dealer's price is less, even if i tack on their dealer $299 fee.

Does the net price on ford's site include their 100 paperwork fee?

is it common for dealers to be under the xplan price on new models? Just wondering if i'm missing something there.

I just bought a 2021 using the X Plan and it was cheaper than all the advertised Internet prices seen on dealer websites. The dealer prices can be misleading and it's going to be hard for you tell which is cheaper. My dealer compared their best price to my X Plan price and the X Plan ended up being 1,000 less than their advertised price. You should call a dealer and have them run the prices in their system to see which will be cheaper. Remember that X Plan users still get Ford Incentives too. The 100.00 processing fee is not included as part of the X-Plan posted price, it's added later along with the taxes, dmv fees, etc.

You can use the plan portal to get an accurate X-Plan price. As stated, it does not include the $100 paperwork fee. Do NOT use it for accurate rebates, it is not complete.

Many dealer sites includes every possible rebate in existence, including ones that you do not qualify for. Some are more honest and list those separately (see picture).

A dealer will print you a report from Smart Vincent, which has all applicable rebates and any private cash you have.

Rick 10000% nailed it, dealers over-promise on the site as far as rebates for most people. You need to talk to someone, the site is only a small part of it. When I built my 2019, the price it showed was much higher than my out the door price after A Plan and rebates. Salespeople won't bite, find a truck you like, ask them if you will be better off with X-Plan or their best offer, and tell them you are shopping around a bit. That will entice them to do the work. It IS possible to beat X-Plan, but that's usually end of the model year deals and that. You should at this point still do best through X-Plan.

excellent info. i'm gonna hook up with EAA or one of the other affiliates and move on from there.

do the xplan leftover 2020's? i know where some of those are too... unlikely they'd be my choice... but it would be good to know that.

You can generally X-Plan ANY never titled Ford. That usually includes dealer demo vehicles, but not a lot of reason to do that as the dealer's demo price would be lower than X-Plan. Also works on Lincoln's.

I wouldn't worry about getting with an affiliate right away, usually, before talking to a salesperson. The X-Plan PIN itself isn't needed until the paperwork is submitted to Ford. On my last truck they already sent in my order and everything before I even got my PIN generated and sent.

I would find out your pricing before you go down the road, it is possible the dealer will deal with you without X-Plan and get you there or lower if they think you are going to X-Plan anyway. Will likely depend on how "hot" the trim level F-150 you get is right now.

Also make sure if you are dealing X-Plan, that they show you the Plan Price page (it's basically an invoice for the truck with boxes at the bottom showing the different plan prices). They may not do this without a PIN, but if you have a PIN they are required by Ford to show you the page. It shows the A Plan/D Plan/X Plan/Z Plan prices for the vehicle you are looking at. I only say may because some dealerships are going to try and get what they can while doing as little work as possible. I have never had an issue, but I generally have long relationships with the dealers I work with.

Anyway, good luck!

my thinking is... as cheap as the EAA membership is... get it in hand before i wander off to any dealer (local doesn't have much on the lot... but i do see something 1 1/2 hour away that's semi appealing. I just want to be fairly sure of where i'm likely at on the price before wandering.
