Default Paint flaking off

I joined today to post these images I have noticed on my new 2021 platinum. While waxing my truck in the garage today I noticed a spot on my driver door on the edge of the door between the front fender and door that paint has flaked off. I'm not sure how to handle this. I've owned the truck coming up on 3 weeks and haven't noticed it till today. I'm worried that any type of high pressure water at a car wash will continue this damage. I have not taken it to a car wash yet, it has only been hand washed by me from new.

I care. 72k for a new truck, at 43 years old it being my first new vehicle I have ever purchased I am extra picky. I've sacrificed and saved my *** off to purchase said vehicle.

It almost looks like it was scuffed during assembly. Go back to the dealer.

A friend of mine had paint flake off on his brand new 2019 Explorer. He took it back to the dealer and they offered to respray the area for free under warranty. He ended up doing a buyback because he didn't want compromised paint in the future.

Looks like I have the same thing. Taking it in Monday so the dealer can file a claim with ford. If thats a no go the dealer will handle it.

I definitely do NOT want a respray. I have the Star White metallic that has metal flake in it and I can just imagine it being hard to match. Also with it being a new truck I don't like the idea of having paint work done already. I guess I will go to the dealership tomorrow and see what they say.

Based on the pics, the first one looks like a chip ( that has been touched up) and the second one looks like a scuff. I don't think either are paint flakes. Paint flakes are jagged on the edges. Hopefully you had them noted before you took delivery so the dealers will look after them for you without any hassles.

LOL getting all crazy about a tiny blemish on any vehicle is a waste of time. As soon as you drive the thing a thousand miles it will have all kinds of little imperfections.
