I installed some offroad lights onto the grill today. Used (2) 32" Rigidhorse light bars from Amazon because they are thin. My initial intention was to install the lightbars inside the grill. Unfortunately the new 2021 grill is smaller and will not accommodate any lightbars as it did in previous years. I made my own back brace and attached the light bar on the front of the grill. All I need is a light switch location which I might go with KustomFX.

Beautiful Truck man!

I did receive my switch panels back from the machine shop. Then I “surface finished” them and went to the Anodizing shop.
I did a few logos on them and loaded them with switches so you can see what fits.
- The “OTRATTW/Carling Technologies” switches and rockers do not have room for a center logo, but I did laser a “Full Distressed USA flag” on one of them. Switch LED’s available in many choices and custom rockers also available!
- The KIC (Keep It Clean) classic rocker switches are available in Red, Green & Amber LED’s (plus a non lit SPDT) is also available.
- The 3/4” round “Plasma Switches” are available in both Black and Polished Stainless finish.... with Many LED color choices available. (Blue, Red, White, Green, Yellow, Orange & Purple). Momentary switches also available!

NOTE:
ALL laser etched logos are FREE and a Gift!
There is NO charge for any logo that you choose and is a FREE service!!!

Currently, I have a couple switch panels getting ready to complete the wiring and then this upcoming week will ship out to the customers who volunteered to get these complimentary switch panels.
In return we will get some nice pics of the install for the instructions plus any additional tips/tricks on the install.

This Mod won’t be for everyone since cutting into the headliner is required, but a Template is included for perfect alignment before marking and cutting.
(these install the same way as all the 12th gen trucks!)

Again, I will keep you posted once I get them completed, and the customer(s) have time for their installation.

Any questions, feel free to email me directly at:
lethalweapon09@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Brett

Definitely go with the KustomFX switch panel. I did one on my 2011 and his work is top quality. I went with the switch panel and engine compartment fuse/breaker box. I'll be doing the same with my 2021. As soon as I find out where I can mount lights I'll be ordering.
Just in case anyone feels the need to ask or wonder, NO I don't know Brett from KusomFX and I do not and will not receive any perks for recommending his product. I'm just a prior customer and found his work to be high quality. I even turned down his offer to receive a free switch panel to install/document/review his product.

Thank you for the kind words!
You are correct... I strive for the highest quality parts and still as friendly as possible to the wallet.
I do have a regular day job and KustomFX has grown quite well over the past 6 years.

...some old fashioned values, with a little bit of OCD has given all my products the quality it deserves.

These also carry a lifetime warranty too.
(plus proudly to say: Engineered, and made in the USA, here in Pennsylvania).

Thank you!
- Brett

I'm running a Rigid Industries SR30 light bar behind the grill of my 2013, I have a 2021 on order and was crushed when I realized there was no room behind the grill of the 2021 to mount the bar. Darn active louvers .

Brett, have you come up with an engine compartment circuit breaker box yet?

Can you provide a little detail around what you had to do with the brackets to mount them onto the grill?

Absolutely. I used an aluminum flat bar, 3'ft x 1.5" wide x 1/8" thick. You can pick it up for less than $10 from any major hardware store. I have the XLT sport so the grills have rectangular slots. So, I cut (4) four pieces, not sure of the size, to fit behind the grill slot. This piece will be used as a back brace for the light mount. I then drilled one hole through the middle of the (4) four pieces and sprayed them black.

I then used 2" machine screws and bolt to mount the light bar to the front of the grill. I used the light bar mounting bracket that it came with and put the screw through the opening on the grill slot.

I hope this helps but if you have other questions, feel free to ask. I will eventually get a relay fuse box as I do intent to install back and side working lights.

I am debating doing this exact thing now that I see how you have it set up! Looks great. I had two questions though.. is it possible to see a photo directly from the side to see how far forward these light bars stick out in front of the grill? And do you think the bars on the grill will be strong enough to hold those bars over time? Up here in northern Ontario we have some pretty bumpy roads and I’m just worried about the weight of the light bars bouncing up and down and possibly breaking off the grill...

I’ve had these lights on here for a month and are holding up very well even though I live in New Jersey and have horrible potholes everywhere. The light bar does not stick out much and seems almost flush. Hope the pics help if not I’ll take some shots.
