Default Need help identifying button.

I noticed this small button at the very bottom of the panel under the steering wheel and can't find what it is.

Dealer installed alarm/tracking. Most likely spliced into OEM harness with wire taps. No bueno, it should be illegal to do to a new vehicle.

I just purchased it brand new from a Ford dealer, I'll need to look under for where it's wired.

That makes sense why I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual!

Yep, not from Ford. Dealers that use them just deactivate it when the vehicle sells, and leave everything in place.

Screw holes in your dash panel, wire taps in your harness, just to give them a little insurance break. It’s not good business from a customer standpoint, IMO. You likely won’t have any problems because of it but I hate to see this done to new vehicles!

I checked it out, it has a 4 wire ribbon cable going behind the center display area.

If I'm looking at that right doesn't that panel move on airbag deployment?

I don't know, but I'll look into that.
