Default Memory Saver

Is a memory saver recommended or ok to use on these trucks when changing out the battery?

Sounds like a good idea to retain the data on the headunit, trailer information, etc.

Hmmmm ..... I don't recall losing any settings when I made the quick-swap from H6 to H8 battery (and reset the BMS of course) ....

Could be wrong but I think there's enough power stored in various capacitors to get your volatile memory through a battery swap with no loss unless you really dally while doing it

Yes, I reset the BMS using the procedure in the Owner's Manual, no external tool used.

I did confirm that reset (it was good) and change the battery SOC target from 80% to 90% with FORScan.

And yes, per OBDMX+, my battery SOC does frequently hit 90% with a good long drive.

Thank you. I'll be happy with the factory settings for SOC especially having never used FORScan. I know every time with my '01 the tranny had to go through a relearn for a couple of days with every battery disconnect. I was hoping to avoid things like that with the memory saver.

I did not loose any settings other than radio stations when changing out my battery.

Does anyone have a link to a memory saver that would work on these trucks?
