Default McGard Vs Gorilla

Looking at getting black lug nuts to match the black OEM rims on my back appearance package wheels

These seem to be the better options for aftermarket lug nuts

Which would you suggest MCGARD 64072 vs Gorilla 61148FSBC

I had Gorilla's on my last F150. They had plating issues. Running McGards on my 2024. Far superior product in my humble opinion.

My gorillas have that spots too. They look fine from 10ft away tho.

I had Gorilla on my 2021 Ranger Tremor. Only on the truck 6 months a year as I used the factory chrome ones on my winter wheels/tires. Noticeable corrosion on 16 of 24 after the 2nd season. Will likely go with Mcgard on my F150 Tremor. The chrome lug nuts annoy me.
I didn’t vote as I have no first hand experience with McGard.

I have the Gorillas on my 23 Tremor. They have been on since the truck was new. Starting to notice rusting on the surface. May try the McGards next.

I have used McGard on numerous vehicles. Currently, using McGard 3 years on my truck. plating clean on the outside, interior 'key' area is beginning to hint at corrosion. 'Key' fits well enough to use power torque gun and torque wrench without slipping. For the F150, there are two (more?) lengths. I use the long length on my stock rims. Even though the McGard lug nut is too long for my winter F 17" rim, I still use them.
I am intrigued by some spline-type lug nuts seen for smaller vehicles.

I bought Gorilla brand (chrome) and ONLY use them during summer, as I have a set of dedicated steelies with studded snow that I run over winter.

The chrome plating has started to chip and show rust spots after just a coupe seasons, and I DON'T use an air gun--breaker bar and torque wrench only. Try McGuard.

I've used Gorilla and McGard in the past nd they always chipped and looked horrible after a year or so up here.

I switched to the Ford Performance lugs in black and they have been on for 2 years and still look brand new. Pricey? Yes.

But worth it. I get my tire shop to never use impact wrenches and bring my own "cushioned" lug nut for them.
