Locking lug nuts
When I picked up my nice new F-150 in 2022, I decided I needed to protect my pretty wheels and put locking lug nuts on it. After 70,000 miles the locking lug nuts were worn out from the abuse they were getting every 5000 miles when I changed oil and rotated tires. I decided that the truck didn't need them since it was stored overnight in my garage and there were very few opportunities when the truck was left idle long enough to worry about it. I still had the original lug nuts in my tool chest so I put them back on and 15,000 miles later, my wheels are still intact.
I suppose I would reconsider if I had invested another $2-4,000 in custom wheels, though.
