Default Level question

2021Xl fx4 pkg. wanting to get rid of some of the rake. Thinking about 2 inch level kit. What is better: spacer or leveling strut? One place in town uses spacers the other place said they use a Rough Country Leveling strut. Thanks guys

There are way too many threads on this already, but I'm wondering the same thing as you. Let me tell you my plan. I ordered a new Tremor which will need a 2" level for sure. I'm going to drive it for 1-2,000 miles and if I like the handling the way it is then I'll use spacers. If I think it's too mushy or whatever, I'll go with coilovers and probably rear shocks to match.

New struts are always better then pucks. Pucks ultimately make the ride stiffer, and worse in my opinion. I did the Eibach Pro series leveling kit on my '21 XLT. All said and done, your between 2.75"-3" of level. Sits perfect in my opinion and wouldn't change it... unless I ended up going full 4" BDS suspension lift one day.

Most all of the manufacturers I've looked at for a leveling kit say they wont work on a Tremor package or one that has the CCD ride control. I'm working on mine now to try and get the level kit put on, I have a 2021 Tremor and so far its been a pain. I put 35x12.50x22s on it with the level kit and you get quite a bit of steering wobble around 60 mph. Put the factory wheels/tires back on it and still get the wobble. Going to switch up to 35x12.50x20s and see if i can get a better ride, w/o the level kit and if that works then maybe try and put the pucks back on. 4" higher in the rear from the factory looks so dumb.

A strut will retain the ride quality.

Good for you taking one for the team! Keep us informed so I know what to do with mine when it finally gets here. I understand the Tremor has an extra inch of travel, so I would think it would require a different strut from the standard listed for an F150.

Will do, it's definitely been a headache. Rough Country tells me they are 6-8 weeks out from having a solution. No response from Readylift and BDS didn't give a timeline. I'm not sure why they don't have a solution yet because they've been putting the same CCD ride control technology on the expedition for a while now and making level kits for those. They provide an extra bracket that moves the CCD sensor back down to it's original spot so that it doesn't mess with the position of the sensor. We tried to use that bracket on my truck but the sensor is mounted differently and the bracket will not work.

I was on the border of getting a puck or a full replacement coilover as well. Specifically the fox 2.0 coilover system which had mixed reviews on it. I ended up risking it and going with the fox 2.0 kit and I am more than happy with it. I also adjusted it down the 5/8” that roush recommends.

Smoother ride? Stiffer? Fox is what I would try but what is the difference between it and stock?

Does your truck have the CCD ride control system on it? If it does, from what I have seen and read, it will only have sensors on the driver's side front and rear control arm/strut
