Question Lariat VS Limited.... Available and which one???

In the next couple weeks, I am buying one or the other. Would rather have a King Ranch but not available that I can find in the range.
The local dealer has 2 Limited's $83-86K on the lot, and a Lariat for about $73K. I have compared them on paper, but I really like the feedback I've seen here from people that actually have them.

I'd love to find out what other think, and their reason, for the choice. Why go with the Lariat or not... and the same with the Limited.

Purposely left the question a bit open and not giving a lot more detail than that. Thanks!

I went with the Lariat because I could get 6.5' bed. Can't do that with Limited. My Lariat costs a few thousand bucks less than the Limited, LOL.

Didn't want fancy 20' wheels, metallic paint, and other things.

Thank you. We currently have a black SUV & don't like how hot it gets. So really liking the white trucks.

However, with that said I will check out the links.

p.s. Thank you for your service. Also ex-Navy.

I was already stretching my budget with the 502A Lariat ($72K MSRP when I ordered but $78K now) and don't care for the brushed silver insert across the tailgate of any of the high trim trucks. Limited will have a very low payload (i.e. ~1200 lbs) and considerably lower tow capacity. I would like the on-board scales, full reclining seats and massaging seats but don't know if those are present on your Limited. I don't care for moon roof on the Limited, either, because of potential for leaks. The continuously controlled dampening will give you a little better ride and it is unlikely to be on the Lariat if you are talking about a truck on the lot.

If the Limiteds you are seeing have the massaging seats removed, I would go Lariat. The only other thing the Limited really offers is the Hi-Loc Transfer Case, that you can only get on the Limited, Raptor, and Tremor. While that is cool, unless you are rock crawling your $80k truck there isn't any tangible benefit day to day. Yeah the Limited interior materials are supposedly nicer, but not ~$10k nicer. Without the seats the Limited and Platinum make almost zero sense. The Lariat has everything else they have and looks better (subjectively, I hate chrome and "look at me" appliques, YMMV).

The appliques were why I didn't go for the King Ranch either. I prefer functionality than looks.

Thank you. Good info. Mirror my thoughts with some more added.

Yes I have never liked the MASSIVE LOOK WHAT I HAVE across the back.

My last 2 have been high end Lariat’s because I don’t like painted bumpers or the seats in a Platinum with the stripe down them.

If you tow or plan to, and check the payload stickers on the drivers side B pillar, you’ll see that the Lariat has better payload. Pretty sure that the KR/platinum get a nicer grade of leather than the Lariat.
think Lariat 502a is what you need if features like heated rear seats matter.
