Default Issue with removing spare

Does anyone know of any issues with removing your spare from under the truck and leaving it empty? I did this on my last F150 and other than maybe letting more dirt up there it didn't seem to be an issue.

The downside seems pretty obvious. You'd probably want to do something about the dingleberry too.

I know right! I see people driving around with that thing hanging close to the pavement....It would drive me nuts. I'll zip-tie mine up.

It also takes out unnecessary additional weight

My spare is out and the hoist reels in all of the way so it doesn’t dangle

Define unnecessary

At any given time, it might be necessary in order to literally drive the truck
