Default Invertor addition

I will begin by saying I know very little when it comes to electricity. With that out of the way, has anyone looked into mounting a 2000w - 3000w inventor on a 2021truck that has the 2.7? Would it need an extra battery? Upgraded alternator? Could it all be mounted inside a tool box in the bed?

Depends on what you want to power out of that inverter. Anything with a big surge draw (coffee maker, microwave, big power tools) will require a second house battery to buffer the initial draw. No need for upgraded alternator. Will want zero gauge wiring to the battery under the hood, run through the frame to keep it from the elements.

Thanks for the info. I am only looking to power small items, recharge portable power tool batteries, largest item will be a deep freeze for a few hours while I'm driving and it only draws 300-350w. I'm just making sure I am not missing something that would wreck my electrical system on the truck.

The wattage draw rating on appliances can be misleading as the surge draw can be much higher than sustained draw.
