2021 Powerboost HELP!
Im Hoping someone on here can guide me to someone I can contact for help. The following is what I sent the finance Dept and sales at the location I leased my new F150. Since I sent this, I also had the police come knocking on my door in regards to my trade in that was involved in an accident and am still receiving parking violations and more in the Mail. I am not sure who to contact and am stuck without my $70k truck which is now 285 mi away and rotting away in the sun. ..
To Whom It May Concern:
I booked a trip to Las Vegas for our 2 year wedding anniversary on 7.18.20 and brought our mothers along so they could enjoy the sights etc. We drove my brand new 2021 F150 Lariat 4X4 Powerboost (leased at Auto Nation Ford Torrance on 4.6.21) and everyone was excited for the adventure. After dropping off my mother at her hotel, I surprised my Nicaraguan wife and her mother by taking them to a restaurant that serves central American cuisine. It was there that the truck wouldn’t start and flashed all sorts of warning lights. We were stranded for a couple of hours before the tow truck was able to come and took another hour or so to sort out how to get the truck onto the flatbed as we worked the manual neutral, yet the parking brake kept turning on and causing issues. The truck was towed to Gaudin Ford (Las Vegas) and we had to wait until the following day to sort out the problem as they were closed on Sunday. I have been in communication with Danny there who has been honest and as helpful as he can be. Unfortunately, it took days and days to figure out what the issue could be and all the while we were stuck without our vehicle in Vegas. Furthermore, my mother has bad knees and was relying on me to take her around and keep her out of the heat. She is not interested in taking cabs nor should she need to when we had a “reliable” new truck at the ready. She flew home the following day as she was nervous to ride back in the truck if there was a chance she could get stuck in the desert. With the shortage of rental vehicles and the dealership having no loaners available, it wasn’t until 7.22.21 until we were able to get a rental via Enterprise that is on site at Gaudin. We waited one more day in town to see if there was any chance we could get the truck fixed up so we could drive it home.
We ended up driving back home 7.23.21 and are finding out the PCM and High Voltage Junction Box need replacing and the parts will be another month until they arrive and even then, it might not be the solution.
My concern is that we are now out quite a bit of money for the extra days stayed in Vegas, the flight home for my mother, the taxis needed to get around and missed days of work as we were stuck out there. We tried to make the most of our remaining time but my wife was never quite comfortable and ultimately did not have the relaxing trip I set out to deliver. This is my dream truck and I am paying a premium for it. I also need the truck for work and am now out of a vehicle to transport the items I need daily. I appreciate the rental but I’m paying almost $900 a month for nothing. Please let me know how we can come to remedy for this, I can’t imagine paying for a vehicle that is stuck in a dealership in Vegas for an undetermined amount of time. Also, I’m a little nervous that this could be a reoccurring issue and that the hybrid system could be faulty overall. What are my options? So far my dream truck, with less than 5k miles, has been a disaster and I’m out thousands of dollars unnecessarily.
I look forward to hearing from someone...
